The client wanted Xeriscape, a low maintenance water-conserving landscape, because she does not live in her home year-round. The fact that she has bad knees brought to light two other considerations: lawn-mowing would be difficult to accomplish and steep grades would be difficult to navigate.

The solution to these challenges involved a dry creek landscape, which reduces planting area and establishes many points of interest in a huge, grass-free yard. The client is able to move from point to point without tiring.
