From design to installation, Synergy helped Elaine and Ron transform their Lake Country home’s outdoor space into something truly special. Here’s how their vision came to life.
Elaine & Ron Cridland: Hi, I'm Elaine Cridland, and I'm Ron Cridland, and we've been working with Synergy Landscape & Design for about two years now. We had tried a couple of other landscaping companies, but the first one dissolved. Then I saw a Synergy vehicle and Googled them. I thought, this looks like a landscaping company that does really good work. We moved on to working with Shannon in the design area and with Max. I'm a very visual person, and she would make beautiful charts, print them off, and show the colour patterns, the heights; she was really helpful that way.
River Creek was really important to us, and they just made it all work, so we knew we were with the right people. We love the waterfall. When we're sitting on our deck beside the pool, the waterfall looks like it's designed to flow right into the pool. Out front, we also have a fountain that gives us a little bit of sound, and even our neighbours comment on how nice it is.
We really wanted to incorporate the view into the whole landscaping scene, and they were definitely on board with that. Actually, the builder had created a big flat area, but the ground was about ten feet above where we're standing right now. So we had to terrace it down in order to see the lake from the pool deck. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been able to see the lake from the pool. Now we actually have more land, because of the slope. When we got it cut out, we gained about 15 feet more than we would have had before.
One of the things I really liked about the installers at Synergy, is that they looked at everything with an artistic eye. The placement of the rocks is very intentional—the rocks are interesting, the types they chose and how they arranged them. As the vegetation grows around it, it really becomes a work of art.
